RT 2010-2019 - Rear Trunk Holder

Someone needs to come up with a solution to the cylinder that often fails at its job...Sometimes because it's got a few years of wear and/or because we over worked it. If you own a luggage rack you know what i'm talking about...With the heavy load of the luggage, you always need to hold it up when using the rear trunk, it will fall on you otherwise. If you have an older Spyder model, chances are that the cylinder is shot...tired....

This will be a very economical solution for you and I bet for your friends, we all know someone with this issue. Made from stainless steel so it won't rust. Installation will take you just minutes and will last the Spyder's life time.

    The only minus is that you have to open the trunk and prop it up before putting anything in. But the cost as compared to the hydraulic piston makes it well worth it

    Great idea. Retainer on interior deck lid very weak and doesn’t keep post tightly suspended to discourage rattling Admin : Simply push on the clip....it will hold tight.....

    Easy to install. Would modify the bottom piece to have a small lip to hold the rod more securely in place. As it is the rod can be moved and allow the lid to slam shut without much effort. Admin : Always good to get feedback, did this happen to you so far ? Just wondering, we've had no issues so far with ours or clients....please keep us posted.

    Works well. The adjustable feature lets you adjust how high the lid is held open. Did not have a lot of instructions. I thought there would be template on where to drill the two holes, but none was needed. Just put it where you want it. I recommend it.
